Water loss caused by hidden pipeline leaks remains a major issue for urban water supply systems worldwide. To help utilities address this challenge, Hunan Puqi Geologic Exploration Equipment Institute has developed the PQ125 Intelligent Acoustic Leak Detector, a portable system designed to improve leak detection efficiency in municipal water networks.
The device captures leak signals using high-sensitivity acoustic sensors combined with intelligent signal filtering. With a frequency detection range of 1 Hz–10 kHz, the system can identify both high-frequency leak sounds and low-frequency signals transmitted through underground structures.
Equipped with a 32-bit processor, 24-bit ADC, and 48 kHz sampling rate, the PQ125 analyzes acoustic signals in real time and displays waveform data on its 7-inch LCD screen. Maintenance teams can compare multiple inspection points and determine the leak location with high accuracy.
The detector supports up to 8 meters of detection depth and offers ±0.1 m indoor and ±0.5 m outdoor positioning accuracy, helping technicians locate leaks efficiently.
With its portable 0.6 kg design and up to 8 hours of battery operation, the PQ125 leak detector helps reduce water loss and improve maintenance efficiency in urban water supply systems.
